About Me

Hello, my name is Julie Timis, and I’m an artist with a lifelong love of creativity. My journey has taken me through many different forms of art.

 I have always been artistic and creative growing up, but I never had the chance to truly develop that part of myself. It wasn’t until I was well into my adult years, after having my second child, that I desperately needed a hobby—a little time for myself where I could slow down, express myself, and create something with my hands.

That was when I discovered polymer clay art.

For 13 years, I devoted my time to learning and honing my skills, creating everything from vases and fashion jewellery to customized journals. Over the years, I had the joy of creating countless journals for avid writers, artists, and collectors. It was a wonderful and fulfilling chapter of my creative journey.

During those years, I also experimented with painting from time to time, but I never really focused on it. Eventually, my journey with journal making came to an end, and I found myself searching for a new artistic path to explore.

In January 2024, I picked up my old set of brushes, some student-grade watercolour paints, and a few sheets of paper—and began painting.

I started with realistic botanical paintings, drawn to the delicate details, colours, and quiet beauty of flowers. What began as an experiment soon became something that captured my heart.

Now, I am continuing to explore flora & fauna watercolour, allowing myself to learn, grow, and discover where this new chapter of my creative journey will take me.

So far, it has been such an enjoyable journey, and every blank sheet of paper I see feels like an opportunity to create something beautiful.
